Welcome to Mysore
Join us every Monday – Friday for traditional Ashtanga Yoga from Mysore, India.
In Mysore-style yoga, each student receives individual attention from the teacher in a small group class. This allows for personalized adjustments, modifications, and guidance based on the student’s specific needs, abilities, and limitations. The teacher can address the student’s unique challenges and help them progress at their own pace.
Adarsh will introduce you to the important aspects of Ashtanga Yoga and the steps to develop your personal practice.

About Ashtanga

Ashtanga Yoga
Classical yoga is rooted in the teachings of Sage Patanjali, author of the Yoga Sutras around 500 BCE.
In this foundational text, yoga is described as a state of inner stillness—a quieting of the mind—reached through dedicated practice and self-discipline. Patanjali outlines the “eight limbs” of yoga, a holistic path that includes ethical principles, mindful conduct, and the progressive stages of meditation.

Hatha Yoga
During the Middle Ages, Hatha Yoga emerged as a practical system that uses the body as a gateway to meditation. Its teachings emphasize posture, breath control, and energetic practices designed to purify and strengthen the practitioner. Through disciplined work with the physical and subtle bodies, Hatha Yoga prepares the mind for deeper states of focus and inner stillness.

Tirumalai Krishnamacharya
In the early 20th century, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya revitalized and reshaped both Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, blending classical philosophy with innovative approaches to physical practice. Drawing from ancient texts and his own scholarship, he emphasized breath-linked movement, individualized instruction, and the therapeutic potential of yoga. His teachings profoundly influenced modern yoga, giving rise to many of the traditions practiced around the world today.

K Pattabhi Jois
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois carried forward Krishnamacharya’s teachings and developed the Ashtanga Vinyasa method into a clear, systematic practice. He codified the series of postures, emphasizing steady breath, flowing movement, and disciplined daily practice as the foundation for transformation. Through decades of teaching in Mysore, he helped introduce Ashtanga Yoga to students worldwide, shaping one of the most influential modern yoga traditions.

R Sharath Jois
Sharath Jois, grandson of Pattabhi Jois, has continued to guide the evolution of Ashtanga Yoga with deep commitment to its traditional foundations. Having trained from a young age, he emphasizes steady, methodical progression, disciplined daily practice, and the transformative power of breath and vinyasa. Through his teaching in Mysore and worldwide, he has helped maintain the integrity of the lineage while supporting students in bringing the practice into modern life.

Adarsh Williams
Adarsh Williams is an Authorized Ashtanga Yoga teacher whose work is rooted in direct study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois. With decades of dedicated practice, he unites the wisdom of the traditional lineage with his extensive background in clinical bodywork and contemporary movement science. He emphasizes breath, intelligent sequencing, and steady, mindful progression. Through teaching students and athletes around the world, Adarsh continues to share the heart of Ashtanga—strength, clarity, and the integration of body, breath, and awareness.
