HI! I’m Adarsh Williams – Ashtanga Yoga & Movement Specialist here online and in Groningen, Netherlands.

I believe that everyone can develop and meaningful movement practice, and one that lasts. My background with Ashtanga Yoga, Assisted Stretching, and Movement Therapy gives me a flexible repertoire to work with students of all types, ability, and experience.

My Approach

I enjoy bridging the gap between classical yoga and modern techniques. The ancients believed that the body is the vehicle for the spirit and that we should “optimize” the vehicle for the Journey. Of course, everyone will come to me with their own goals and I try to meet them there. I work with people seeking a wide variety of outcomes:

  • Mastering Peak Poses – Intelligent sequencing to build the skills (and strength) for Peak Poses (Headstand, Backbend, Arm Balance, etc)
  • Flexibility – From basic stretching such as AIS or PNF, as well as advanced stretching techniques for athletes, yogis, dancers, gymnast
  • Sustainable practice – preventing burnout, injury, & plateaus

Bio

Adarsh Williams is a Yoga Alliance Trainer (E- RYT 500, CE Provider), Ashtanga Yoga teacher (KPJAYI -2), and Movement Specialist (TRS-2). With over twenty years of professional experience, Adarsh has traveled the world assisting organizations and individuals in developing yoga, movement, and wellness programs.

A direct student of Pattabhi Jois, Adarsh received Ashtanga Authorization in 2004 and has completed numerous certifications with luminaries such as Richard Freeman & John Scott in yoga, and training under Dr. Kelly Starrett as a Movement & Mobility Specialist.

Integrating traditional yoga and physiotherapy, Adarsh has created and trained teachers in numerous innovative programs including Banded Mobility, Active Stretch, Sculpt Yoga, to name a few. His YouTube channel has become a popular resource in the fitness community and has led to the release of three feature-length instructional videos: Smart Stretch – Active Isolated Stretching, Smart Stretch – Assisted & Ashtanga Yoga – Strength, Mobility, Skill, and his first book: Smart Stretch – A Visual Guide To Active Isolated Stretching.
